Originally from Dublin, Orla Ryan has over fifteen years' experience as a tour guide in the Chester Beatty Library, Dublin. She founded Public Art Walking Tours in 2013 offering guided tours of the public art in St. Stephen's Green. After moving to Kilkenny, she started volunteering in the Butler Gallery and is a committee member of the Alternative Kilkenny Arts (AKA) Fringe Festival. She is secretary of the Irish Association of Art Historians (IAAH) and a council member of the Friends of the National Collections of Ireland (FNCI).
