Rememberings

Holy Cross parish, Dundrum, Dublin re-opened in December 2016 after restoration and reconfiguring.  The church, on Dundrum main street, has many fine stained glass windows including work by Michael Healy; the Rosary window.

A cartoon by Evie Hone, reminding viewers of her connection to the area (her studio was in Marley park), depicts 'Christ among the Doctors' from the Gospel of Luke.

A more recent work by Laura O'Hagan (detail above from 'Lumen') is located outside the church to the right near the bus stop. Laura also completed the work located behind, and under, the baptismal font. With the relocation of the font to the middle of the church, the wall mosaic was moved downstairs and now welcomes all to the new pastoral centre.

Outside the church, the sculpture 'The Family' by Zimbabwean artist William W. Chewa, marks the World Meeting of Families, held in Dublin in 2018.
